Changes to stand up drinking liquor licence laws South Australia

The Government has decided to lift a ban on drinking while standing outside some pubs and clubs in an effort to support small businesses.

After a successful nine month trial applications can now be made to remove the conditions on licensees which require patrons to be seated whilst consuming liquor in licensed outdoor areas.

Conditions were originally introduced to limit bad behaviour and ensure patron safety, so applications received to lift the ban will be considered on a case by case basis and in consultation with Local Government and South Australia Police.

This is great news for local business owners who have no issues with their outdoor seating areas.
